After a 11 hour flight we arrived into San Francisco around 14:30. Very comfortable flight, Dad enjoyed watching "inside out" (kids cartoon film!) Had about an hour wait for the hire car but eventually got going and drove up to San Fran National State Park and got some great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. After this (around 6 ish) we started to head South on the Pacific Highway 1 as we wanted get out the city by night. We headed South to Davenport where we had a good meal and our first stay of the night. Great view of the Pacific (see photo from the veranda). Dad made a new friend who talked a lot to him about his time in the Navy and asked if he "was involved in 'Nam?" He said he wasn't..
As you can see we have a massive red car which we've nicknamed "the fire engine" for obvious reasons.
Road is right on the coast so have some nice sea pictures; also some lampposts for Phil!
